Production Premiere: 25th February 2017

Pogue’s Entry is a living history experience based upon the life of Alexander Irvine. It is staged in Pogue’s Entry, Irvine’s birthplace, in Antrim town centre.

Born in 1863, Alexander Irvine has been venerated as Antrim’s most successful literary son. ‘My Lady of the Chimney Corner’ (1913), his immortal tribute to his mother, brought him global fame.

Using promenade theatre Pogue’s Entry explores some of the key events and influences on Irvine’s life from his early childhood in Antrim to his later life and work in America.

Developed in partnership with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, the project aimed to connect residents and visitors to the area to the history of the town through one of its most celebrated figures.
