a bellaghy tale
Written By: Vincent Higgins
Directed By: Paula McFetridge
Production Premiere: 7th November 2019
As part of the Embrace The Place Tourism Northern Ireland and Arts Council Northern Ireland collaboration, Kabosh along with 3 other organisations launched a spectacular arts programme breathing life into heritage sites.
A woman returns home to Bellaghy. A homecoming of sorts. Old haunts. Old habits. Old ground. What harm? What does she want? She has a tale to tell. ‘I had my existence. I was there. Me in place and the place in me.’
Join Kabosh on a theatrical journey around Bellaghy. Experience the places that for Seamus Heaney ‘lie deep, like some script indelibly written into the nervous system.’
“The senses – All of them were challenged during the performance. From the sound of the crowd walking to the wolf tones football match to the smell of the pig farm to the light of the panoramic from the tower room, all added to the song, rhyme and drama of the tour. Thank you!”

“Fantastic. Would highly recommend. I found it a strangely moving and emotional experience being immersed in and gliding through Bellaghy like a time traveller really made an emotional and thought filled / provoked impact on me.”
