1916 Our history our future
Written By: Vincent Higgins, Kieran Magee, Laurence McKeown and Maria McManus
Directed By: Paula McFetridge
Production Premiere: 17th April 2016
On April 17th 2016, Kabosh, in partnership with the South and East Belfast committee of Ag Fìorú na Poblachta, brought the history and heritage of the Short Strand to life in a one-off promenade event.
Combining spectacle, theatre and music this unique outdoor performance marked 100 years since the Easter Rising. Audiences were taken on a journey through the Short Strand, encountering previous residents connected with the events of Easter week in Dublin 1916.
Four original plays were performed in exterior locations across the Strand by a team of esteemed local actors supported by costumed actors and singers from the community.
This event was free to the local community and over 200 experienced the premiere performance.
