TODD (the demon Barber of Fleet Street)
Created by Karl Wallace & Conor Mitchell
Premiere Production Old Museum Arts Centre March 2004
A physical, comic and thrilling tale of blood lust set in Eighteenth Century London. Based on the old Penny Dreadful stories of the late 1830’s, TODD is a musical tale of a barber with more than a passing interest in the ‘cut-throat shave’ and ‘short back and sides’. Five actor-musicians play a host of characters and musical instruments in this updated bloody tale where unsuspecting customers disappear without trace only to end up in MEAT PIES!
“the music is splendid, the staging terrific and the performances are superb”
BELFAST TELEGRAPH
“ a glorious piece of Victorian melodrama and music hall”
