‘Hostel’ to be performed by South Eastern Regional College students

We are teaming up with the South Eastern Regional College and the North Down and Ards Homeless Prevention Task Group to produce a student production of ‘Hostel’ to run as part of Homeless Awareness Week in November 2014.

The play will be directed by South Eastern Regional College Performing Arts Lecturer Fiona Cullen, produced in partnership with Stuart Brown, North Down and Ards Homeless Prevention Task Group. Through this collaboration, we hope to highlight the issue of homelessness in the North Down area. All proceeds go to North Down and Ards Homeless Prevention Task Group.

Fiona Cullen, Performing Arts Lecturer at SERC says, “The students are very excited and thrilled to be working in partnership with Kabosh and the North Down and Ards Homeless Prevention Task Group on this production of ‘Hostel’ by Fionnuala Kennedy. The Glass Umbrella Theatre Company (SERC’s student theatre company) is committed to raising awareness of homelessness in North Down through its performance of ‘Hostel’ in November. This partnership with industry gives the students the opportunity to learn new skills from industry practitioners and to use the medium of theatre to highlight the notion that homelessness can affect anyone.”
