Strange
By Rachel O’Riordan and Karl Wallace created in May 1995 and performed in the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast
The first foray for the company into dance theatre.
The action in Strange revolves around a 16ft scaffolding house peopled with a subversive child in a nursery, a spidery below-stairs resident, a sexily evil housekeeper, a shell-suited couple on a settee, a coy bather and her rubber duck, an innocent insomniac and many others – a simple metaphor for everyday domesticity!
“this colourful, surreal piece owes much in inspiration to the visual humour and subtle clowning of European theatre ..”
THE IRISH TIMES
“physical theatre at its best ….. a company well worth watching”
